What Are Indonesian Goverment Looking For?
Who doesn't know Apple, one of the greatest technology companies, belonging to the top ten on the Dow Jones in America? I think the Indonesian government has made a foolish decision by imposing restrictions on the distribution of Apple products. This will undermine international trust in Indonesia and hinder direct investment in the country. It is understandable why Indonesia's economy might weaken. However, the situation could be different if the Indonesian government made it easier for Apple to invest by implementing straightforward regulations and offering tax holidays. This would make Apple more interested in investing their money in Indonesia.
On the other hand, Indonesia would gain
more benefits from this. As an influential company in the world, Apple's
decision to invest could encourage other international companies to follow
suit, helping Indonesia regain international trust. This would also reinforce
the national economy, boosting GDP and overall prosperity. Another benefit is
that Indonesia would be able to open vast job opportunities, creating around
2,000 new jobs to help reduce unemployment. Additionally, Indonesia could
increase national income through employee income tax revenues. This would be
possible if Indonesia considers the long-term benefitsInstead of focusing
solely on making a lot of money in the short term.
